I have an aftermarket Pioneer head unit in my Firebird, and everytime I start the car, it acts as if the battery has been disconnected. I was trying to firgure out what was wrong, and I did discover that if I turn the car off, and then wait a couple seconds and then turn it back on, the radio keeps it's memory.
Any Ideas as to why this is happening?

Often, people reverse the ignition and battery wires.
The yellow wire on the radio needs a constant 12 volt source. I'm guessing that your factory wiring is hacked up because you wouldn't have had this problem if you used a $5 wiring harness, so your yellow Pioneer battery wire should be hooked to the orange GM 12 volt battery wire.
Jim is right the 12 volt constant is orange on the car harness and yellow on the pioneer harness, roughskinjrz the Blue wire is typically power out for a power antenna and such.
