You can buy an adapter that plugs in to your factory wiring. I just installed a factory cd player (from an 1992 T/A) in my 86 T/A. It was a piece of cake.

I have one out of an 1996 Pontiac transport that would be perfect for a swap....its a hard to find unit I picked off of ebay, that I may not use.

If you're getting the CD player from a car yourself just cut the wires and splice into your present wiring. The plugs are different in the new units compared to yours. Later CD players, say 2000 and newer (?) have cooling fans on the back, might cause clearance problems in the rear. I put a 97 CD player in mine and only had to trim the flange off the back of the face plate where it hit the radio. Looks factory when done.

I installed this Delco CD Player in my 86 Iroc. This unit was pulled from a 1993 Buick Roadmaster Wagon.I used an adaptor that i pulled from a junkyard car and just spliced the ends from the cd radio connector to the adaptor. That way I didnt have to cut the factory wiring that I had spliced back in.The previous owner had butcherd the wires for an aftermarket pos unit.Thank god for junkyards
