Soundstream Amp ???'s

I'm familiar with, and have a fair amount of experience w/Soundstream Reference amps from the '90's. I haven't updated my car audio since then, and now I need to, soooo....

Is there an two channel amp out there, that's bridgable, w/a low pass crossover (to run a sub), and offers similar performance as a Soundstream reference 300SX?

Or did Soundstream make an amp back then that I can find on ebay that offers those features?

I'm shopping used here and have a <$100 budget. Thanks.

-Tom

Give this link a try. You have 5 hours left. Hard to find amps like the old reference series. Though you could look at the class d amps of just about every manufacturer.

Thanks for the link! If it stays affordable, I'll grab it!

You're right; it's tough to match the performance of the older Soundstreams. Which is why I used it as a bench mark in my first post. Thanks again!

Re: Soundstream Amp ???'s

I loved my old soundstream stuff.

I had a Soundstream Continuum 5 channel amp

POWER: 75 X 4, and 300 X 1. Of course, that is VERY conservative because soundstream doesn't use voltage regulation, and these numbers are for 12V, and most cars run at more like 14V. Anyway, those numbers are RMS values, NOT PEAK. Those numbers are also for a 4ohm load. This amp is capable of a 1ohm load impedance.

CROSSOVER: This amp has the best active cross-over built in that I've ever used. complete control, 3-way, 18db/octave. This isn't your average lowpass and highpass, you have alot more control than usual, and the ability to do bandpass.

rockford fosgate had some bad *** amps back in the day also. Try and find a old Punch100

Re: Soundstream Amp ???'s

Thanks. I'll keep looking. The Reference 500s seems to be the one for me. I only need tow bridgable channels to run a sub. I got out bid on the link above so I'll keep looking.

Re: Soundstream Amp ???'s

Soundstream.............I'm feeling real old right now. I ran all Soundstream when I competed in IASCA (Reference 500, 2 Reference 300, SS10R, SS6.1, SS5.11). I have an old Granite 180.6 in my car now running front, back and sub. Still going strong!!
