Multiple Subs in 1 ported enclosure ?

So if 1 ported sub uses 1.0 cf air space & a 2" x 6" port, can I build a 2.0 cf box with 2 2"x6" ports and use 2 subs?

If not, how do I figure this out??

Re: Multiple Subs in 1 ported enclosure ?

I'm trying to build a ported enclosure for 4 8" subs.

Have you seen the shape of a 3rd gen trunk? the bottom well is off to one side, using an angle and going forward I can probably get enough air space (.7 each sub) and the ports, but making 4 equal cf chambers... would be rather difficult...

I can still brace the box inside....

Re: Multiple Subs in 1 ported enclosure ?

The only things I've seen concerning sharing air space are the rigidity of the box (which can be braced) & the other is "what if 1 woofer fails, the other('s) will soon fail too...."

Any other concerns?

Download Win ISD and it will work it out for you. The calculations aren't really that simple when you put 2 subs in 1 space. I've made several boxes like this using win ISD and have never been dissapointed.
