Building A Trunk Setup? LOOK

First off, a huge THANK YOU to Brisk. I was about to go out and design my trunk setup off of the schematic in the sticky and he mentioned that their directions were off. HE IS RIGHT. I will post my measurements, but it's late so I'm just going to post my progress for now.

Here's what I have so far...

Before:

Finished box:

My generic fake floor (not trimmed to fit, yet):

Cardboard rough draft of the fake floor:

More to come tomorrow. Hopefully the placement of the subs, amps and cap... and def the measurements. Comments welcome.

Re: Building A Trunk Setup? LOOK

The set-up I have in my 92 RS was based on the measurements of that schematic. I thought my installer may have made an error in measurement, but after reading this and Brisk's post, he probably didn't. In order for me to remove my enclosure, I have to remove the latch pull down motor to have clearance, but I can still remove the plastic panel to access my tail lights.

HMM, I would concentrate on working hatch shocks and replacing those torn rear seats too keep up the work, I am looking forward to seeing the finish.

All in due time... This car was a $500 special and I'm transferring the ICE from the old car to this one. Add a completely custom interior, a 406 build, this audio and bodywork to make like new and $500 looks AWESOME

I guess it should be overlapped a little bit so it can deliver the vibrations properly.

Re: Building A Trunk Setup? LOOK

OVER a year without progress sucks...

Working to provide for a wife and 3 kids... necessary.

This project is not dead... I would apologize for the delay, but I think I felt it more than you guys... lol

And as for the speakers, the last pictures were of a test fit for the amps and cap... holes werent cut for the 12's, yet.

This TransAm fits the name "Phoenix" for every day that goes by...

Where does the top sit, in relation to your trunk (for TTop clearance).
Did you take a picture without the false floor in, but the box sitting there?

I am now working on version 2.0.

Just as I think you were guessing, magnum, I was going to have clearance issues with that setup.

I started over, built the box better this time and have a better plan in mind. Pics to come as progress continues...

(I can actually focus on this now that the motor is mostly done...)
