if your alternator isn't currently working at all you would probably know by not being able to start your car and things like that |
I have a brand new Altima yellow top in my car that is maybe 3-4 months old. Doesn't have any corrosion it is spotless. I do not have a Voltage tester at home as I have never need one... But as soon as I turn my car on it reads 10-9 volts and then I turn my lights on they extremely dim. I doubt the Voltage gauge is reading it wrong because if it was the lights would still be nice and bright. As far as I know the alt is done its a piece of poo I drove home on battery.
The alt is a Delco Remy 140 amp Alt. Pretty sure it is the CS-144 model (not self exciting)
When using this alt should my installer change the wiring harness for this Alt to work? Because I am pretty sure that my wiring harness is just stock.
