If you want to stay with RF make sure you get the p3's. Those subs are a great all around sub. Put a 1000D amp on them and they will hit nice and loud but yet still sound good on just about any music. Problem is going to be the box for them. Those work best in a ported box which is hard to do CORRECTLY in thirdgens. Only way to really do it is to build a very complex huge box out of the whole back of your car and make ports up by the seats. Ill post a pic of my system once i go outside. Mine is not ported but it will give you a good idea of how the box would look to do it right.

i am going to put an external gain knob on the dash of my car. so when the music style changes you can change it for what you like. I am also going to put an amp shut off switch on the dash to prevent getting noise pollution tickets LOL

Re: help choosing best subs

I would suggest an EQ it will help to change the sound for different kinds of music and will have a switch to shut off for the base when the cops roll up, I have an EQ and the remote bass knob in my third gen and they both help alot when different basses come on.

Re: help choosing best subs

I have n 86 camaro that hit 148db at a db drag. I also listen to the same types of music. I have my MECP listens which stands for "Mobil Electronic Certified Professional" and I had two solobaric L7's in a camaro box that I bought off of ebay for like 50 bucks that fits right in the back and looks awesome. Of course though if you go with a louder sub your goung to have to seal the box ETREAMLY GOOD extra screws and a liquid sealent. I also and a DA Amp that was 2000 watts at a half ohm stable! This setup in my car rocked and often gave me heart palputations when i listened to it for a long period. As for Rockford really stay with the power series or the p3's or even the Hx2 they'll all give you great bass with the right amp.
