I finally got a stock cassette radio froma 1987 Camaro. What was the maximum watt output these things have in them?

Dealer Brochure: No rating

Wild a$$'d guess? 40 watts maybe?

somewhere around 16-20w total for the usuall delco
with 2 amp chips-all thirds as far as i know.
did find a delco from an'84 cadillac cimmaron that had
4 amp chips,so that one had twice the power of the
typical delco stereo.

I would say no more than 10 watts.

I'm curious- what is the difference between the stock radios from 3/4th gen cars and a new, aftermarket one? I mean in terms of sound quality and performance. Ideally I'd like to modify a stock radio to give new radio performance to keep the old looks. Thoughts?
