Hey all. My 87 trans am has a radio without the equalizer and i was wondering where i could get one with an equalizer. I want to keep it stock looking and so it will go with the orange dash lighting.Thanks.

Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
Hey since you guys are on the topics of radios... i still have the stock wiring harness in my 86T/A... I was wondering... what type of the delco radios will fit into my TA without changing the wiring harness?
Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
I guess to rephrase that... would a delco radio of the same year from a different vehicle like oh say another gm product like a camero or a cadillac have the same type of radio?

Pretty much all gm radios from 82-2002 will fit.On some you might have to change the mounting brackets but thats really no big deal at all.

Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
I was thinking more along the lines of a stock radio for my car to keep the original look. I know a lot of the simmilar radios would look about the same. I don't know if the jacks and connectors would fit from a 92-95 radio. oops just saw that other posting. ok cool thanks for the info. hmmm sounds like i might want to shoot for a later firebird then... i wonder what they will have on ebay...
Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
You could A) get a newer Delco radio/CD player from a Pontiac and all you would need is a wiring adapter-$5-$15
B)Try really hard to find a working or fixable 87 Delco radio/cass player!
FYI: I got a 99 Grand Prix CD player in my ride.....Works Great-I Love It!.....And some how it still looks stock!
Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
that adapter you are talking about... does that require you resodder ther wires for that adapter to work or is it just a single piece that goes imbetween the old connector and the radio?
Re: stock Delco radio with Equalizer(Where to get one)
Sodder! You have the old wires going into the old plug. The New adapter plugs Onto the old plug. The wires from the adapter is soddered to the wires of the "Newer" Delco player plug wires and that plugs into the deck.
Sorry, I made it sound Alot harder then what it actually is! It's really not that hard to do!!! If I can do it, so can you!!!!!!
