As they say...LOUD is cheap......quality sound costs
not all the time..lol..u just have to know where to look =P and yes i know i got mine from best buy...but my $500 subs that i got for....cheap. i found somewhere else..
Those focals are just about the most expensive speakers ever...except for those rogue acoustics that goo up til like $200 000...the tweeter on those focals is made of beryllium ..which is far more expensive than gold =s
okay...but do they sound good? why would the metel make a difference???
Are u kidding me? the efficiency of the speaker relies highly on whats it made of....the efficiency is how well speaker converts watts into music power...
Why do u think ur critical mass subs are worth so much??Because theyre highly efficient....hypotetically they get could get louder than other subs with similar specs with the same amount of power..
Speaker makers normally look for strong yet lightweight materials or combination of materials so that their speakers can be more efficient..sometimes they use kevlar for instance cuz of its stregth...
but yeah.....what a speaker its made of will afect its sound big time...
Utopia is an amazing speaker no doubt. A friend has a set in his Porsche. Last time I borrowed it was for three days. Drove 8 hours (each way) to Quebec listening to everything (jazz, rock, country, rap).
Very good brand is Hybrid Auto Technology. Their speakers seem to be winning a LOT of sound quality contests in the US and Canada. Top set will run you about $1000 (for a three way set).
Best is to set a butget, then get the best you can.
We have all been there.
When I competed in IASCA car audio I had $20,000 in car audio
