Has anyone put custon sized speakers in the dash?

Hello I'm new to this forum and I recently bought an 85 iroc z. I need to completely redo the sound system. I'm not an expert on third gen camaros but I think most of them, like mine, have 6x4 speakers in the front and 6x9 in the back right? Anyways I was wondering if anyone has tried to put in bigger speakers in the front? I was thinking of doing this but I wanted to get some ideas on how to do it

Re: Has anyone put custon sized speakers in the dash?

I just finished putting some infinity components in today.6"s under the dash and tweets in the trim by the fog light switch on the drivers side and same area on the passengers side.Well worth the hassle.sounds incredible compared to the phenix gold 4x6's that were in there. But If your thinking about switching to bigger speakers be prepared for some fabbing and hacking under the dash.but like i said before well worth the hassle.

Okay thanks guys for the ideas. Making the 6x4s tweeters sounds like a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that.
