i have my tweeters and 6.5"door woofers in the exact
same positions-sounds way better than the stock
dashtop position;highs are cleaner,less harsh,better
imaging Back in 1993,when i put in the speakers, it
was hard to find large tweeters that would fit that area,
found some morel(mdt 54 as i recall)that fit and looked
great-made in england, they were expensive but sound
great!!-and still going strong today
these days probably easier to find some that fit

I like the tweeter location how does everything sound?
every thing sounds great, its night and day diffrence between the dash speakers, since they are amp, the sub woofer doesnt drown out the highs, i think its a good balance
the 6.5s i used were made by eminence(old skool u.s.
made speakers) they have a large but flat magnet and
really rock with stout, clean bass for 6.5s. they were also
installed in 1993,were bought from "parts express" as
were the morel tweeters(mdt 39s BTW,not 54s as i said
by mistake above) the eminences have also aged very
well-had to repair the surround of one this year, the
other is still going strong
BTW my whole system is "old skool"-mostly '80s,much
of it early '80s-period correct for my '82
