New guy here. My project.

Hey guys,
I've been here quite a bit the past few months since I just acquired a 1984 Z28 Camaro. It's a white hard-top with tan leather interior and a black dash. Engine and heads are matching numbers 350 sbc from a 68-69 SS Camaro.

I will be starting a project tomorrow with a good friend of mine. We will be using the .pdf file that I found on these forums to build a sub box for the well area in the back. I will keep you updated on the project with pictures, details, and any problems that I run into.

Audio hardware is all Pioneer including (2) TS-W303R 12's and (1) GM-D8400M mono amp. It already has Pioneer 6x9's in the back and Memphis 4x6's in the dash. A Sony Xplode Hd model cd player is in the dash already. I know its a mix breed system, but I traded a 88 honda 4wheeler for the car straight up.

Thanks guys and gals for all your info.

welcome to the boards! There's a lot of knowledgeable people around here, so I'm sure we'll be able to tackle any questions you may have.

Sounds like you've got quite a bit of goodies to look forward to. No need to worry about mixing and matching, its all part of the game.

OK
Here's the first update of the project. I picked up the materials minus the carpet for around 40$ from Lowes. MDF is heavy so make sure you have a helper when moving it around. I'll start with the car itself and move to the build project.

Remember, I traded a 1988 Honda 4-trax for this car!!

Remember to use liquid nails and drill pilot holes for your wood screws because MDF will split if you put a lot of pressure on its edges. If it does split a little, take some of the liquid nails and mix it with some leftover saw dust and put it in those cracks. That prevents it from splitting more.

Re: New guy here. My project.

In these shots we were finishing the back of the box. This build take a long time to complete and this is as far as we got in day 1. About 4-5 hours with picking up materials and cleaning up the garage after. We went ahead and got all the pieces of the project cut and numbered so it would save us time on day 2.

If everything goes well this weekend, we will continue the project Sunday after Church and I'll update with pictures.
Thank you all for your interest!!
