I have been searching endlessly for new speakers for my camaro. I have the original speakers with a sony cdx-l350 deck in my car. I have been looking at a pair of these kicker speakers, and seem to have heard good things about them.

They seem like some of the middle of the road speakers without going over board. I listen to mostly an arrangement of rock music so bass isn't really a major concern.
Any comments as to how the speakers are?

I see your point but how easy would it be to hook up in place of the speakers? and would it sound as full with just the 6x9 and tweeters. I was also thinking about then just making it a 6 speaker system and putting two midwoofers in the trunk with an amplifier if nessecary.

My borhter has a nice pioneer system in his ranger and it sounds nice, and my dad has pioneer in his trucks and they hav enever given him a problem unlike his old inffinitys. Basically all I really need to know is the pricess of hooking up these tweeters and if I will need an amp for the 4 6x9's or if I should just go wtih the midwoofers for the 6x9 in the rear and just keep a 4 speaker system.
i have those same kickers in my dash and my buddy has the 6x9s in his truck they sound awsome and i had no clearence problems in the dash they bolted right in

on my 91 they didnt.... well they did bolt up, but also raise the a little over a 1/4 inch
Yep I'm pretty sure to go with the pioneer setup, but my question is, do you mount up tweeters just like regular speakers where the original 4x6's went?
I can see how bass in the dash can be bad, my dash rattles enough already.

I had Polk 4x6s, but the surround tore, so in went some Memphis Audio 4x6s. When putting in the new speakers a little silicone caulk in key areas really eliminated the amount of sqeaks/rattles. Then again, my dash didn't rattle much to begin with...
if it was me i would go with memphis or rockford fosgate. that is what we had at my old job and man we put in sum badass systems. they are a little pricey but well worth it
