well i finally decided to put 6.5 speakers in my doors.... and OMG im in love! they are infinity refrence 6020 ill let the pics do the talking tomorrow. ill show the before with the 5.25 (incase someone wants to go this route) and the now with the 6.5s .... oh and i have manual window btw
i was going to try that, but i was scared of rattles in the dash... that and when i had aftermarket 4x6 in my dash i felt it raised it too high....
I used a thin sheet of plywood and made brackets that fit in the factory brackets and kept the speakers out of the dash pad and barely cleared the ducting on the drivers side. Looks good, I mounted the tweeters facing me under the dash. You can barely see them.

Are those mounting brackets ones that came with the speakers or did you buy them somewhere. I never realized it would be that easy to put speakers in the door with manual windows.

they came with the speakers, the infinity refrence i used come with both the metal one and plastic ones, but i felt the metal rings had a lower profile so i used those.
Sweet deal, I've been thinking about getting the Rockford Power series componets, or trying the shallow punch versions. I'm so glad I saw this thread lol. The dash speakers juts reflect too much off the windshield and gives and uneven imaging even when using time alignment.
