I also have a 1.5 Farad Capacitor hooked up to it as well
I was just wondering if it would be better to parallel connect the subs or bridge the amp to get the most out of this system...it sounds good now (i just have it hooked up normally)...but maybe I can get more power by connecting them in another way or make them last longer
Are the subs 4 ohm? You could run them in parallel for a two ohm load to pull a little more power from the amp. Personaly I don't like to run that low because it puts to much strain on the amp.

yes, they are 4omh subs...Thats what I was wondering, So I ca parallel them (can you explain how to do that?) just wire positive to positive and neg to neg between the 2???
How many watts would it be without parallel and with parallel? (just to see if its worth it) and if the amp can handle it

soem sony amps are bridged internally so as soon as you hook up two four ohm subs the amp is running at 2ohms.
running an amp at 2 ohms is fine plus you will get more low notes then running them at 4 ohms and more power to the subs

I wouldn't chance it. Running bridged at 2ohms will cause more current flow. This could result in no problems, hotter amp, blown fuses, or damaged amp internals. Hotter amp and damaged amp internals obviously shortening the life of the amp.
I tried to run through the numbers but I don't know what to hold constant when going from Bridged at 4 ohms to bridged at 2 ohms. I'd bet that max you'd get 50W per sub, but gut feel is telling me more in the neighborhood of 30W per sub. For me, especially in a hatchback, that's not worth stressing out the amp. Focusing on making sure the box is the correct size, sealed, and solid has far more noticeable results.
That said, if you did want to try it bridged-parallel, you'd just run the positive output from the amp to the positives on both subs, and the negative terminal on the amp to the negatives on both subs.

I dont really care about loudness too much...What i am mostly looking for is better overall sound quality...So what would give me better sound Q?? running the subs at 2 (paralleled) or 4 omhs?
You'll get the best sound quality running the amp at one of its intended configurations. Notice the amp says:
200 watts x 2 into 4 ohms (20Hz to 20kHz, 0.1% THD)
250 watts x 2 into 2 ohms (20Hz to 20kHz, 0.15% THD)
500 watts bridged into 4 ohms (20 Hz to 20kHz, 0.15% THD)
Notice that while running 2 channels, when you drop them from 4 ohms to 2 ohms, you pick up 0.05% distortion. Can you hear that, probably not, but I'd expect the same when going from bridged 4 ohms to bridged 2 ohms. After a quick look at some acoustics sites, I think the physics is there to back that concept up. So, theoretically, you'll have the best sound quality running 2 channels at 4 ohms. However, if you run them Series-Bridged (8 ohms) you may get better still sound quality, and are less likely to cause damage than trying to run the amp at 2 ohms.

running an amp at two ohms is fine ecpecially when they say that they can be ran at 2ohms now at 1 ohm your pushing most amps are not stable at 1 ohm but to tell you the truth it will be difficult to hear the difference between two and four other then the fact when running at 2 you will hear it hit a lot harder because you are sending more power to the subs, subs have a mono signal so you really cant hear some of the frequences that they are hitting at. in factory amplified systems they run the factory subs at 8 ohms i guess you can say for sound quality to tell you the truth if you are looking for sound quality you might as well run them at four ohms and call it a day Just make sure those woofers are getting enough power running at four ohms
