Question about an AUX hook up...

In my 92 Z28 I have an aftermarket Pioneer DEH-1000 Headunit. It doesnt have an AUX plug which sucks. As of now im using the cigarette lighter adapter for my iPod touch which ALSO sucks. My question is, is there like an aftermarket type AUX unit that hooks up to the headunit itself or cig lighter which allows me to use an AUX cable? Thanks

deh 4000 ub ftw
i got mine for 149-169 at walmart
make sure its the one with the usb port in back and you can plug your ipod/zune/thumb drive right in to the back of the unit.
then you can scroll thru menus as if it was the ipod/zune/thumb drive or just put it on random.
it will also charge the device.

a friend of mine got one and plugged an extra 120 gig laptop drive into the back and set it to random.
plus nobody sees anything sticking out the front, so it looks cleaner.
you also have a rear aux port and IIRC a front aux port, but i never use aux for anything so i cant be sure

Re: Question about an AUX hook up...

If you're not looking to swap out the deck, take a look to see if it has the option to control a cd changer. I think Pioneer's all use the same IP-bus connector, so you can use something like this instead of changing out the whole deck:

Re: Question about an AUX hook up...

My .02's...

Yes, there are options... FM modulator, that sounds like crap, cd changer cables, that I've had a horrible time with to...

Spend a bit extra $$$ and get a deck with Ipod / Iphone controls... Not only will it plug right in and you're able to control it from the deck, but it will charge your ipod / phone too...
