Re: Hows this iPod FM transmitter?

Question, do you use your ash tray? If not you can make a "dock" if you will for you ipod there. That's what had planned to do. But I use mine now. As far as the FM transmitter is concerned i've never used it, not really a fan of them, an aux input usually provides much better sound quality.

Re: Hows this iPod FM transmitter?

I had the same intentions. To make a dock out of the ash tray but my aftermarket head unit doesn't have an aux input. So an FM transmitter is my only choice as of now. I was just wondering how well this one works.
I ordered it a little bit ago then realized that the remote only changed the stations on the dock, not to control the music. So I just wasted an extra $5. Oh well lol

Re: Hows this iPod FM transmitter?

what do you currently have for an aftermarket deck? a lot of them can have an aux in added where the cd-changer jack goes. I did this on my last pioneer for under $10

My headunit is a Pioneer DEH-1000
Theres no AUX input on the front of the headunit. I never got around to pulling it out to see if theres one on the back though. I dont think there is.

If you get a chance, take a look at the back of your deck. Pioneer has been using a standard IP-bus connection setup for years. If you have a square-ish socket in the back of your deck and you can control a cd changer (I couldn't find a manual online), your best sounding solution would be one of these:
