Ideas please for new stereo system

I have an 87 Camaro just removed the bose system a year ago, and need some ideas on what would be a good route to go that isn't super expensive. Is it easy eliminating 4x6 in the dash? What would be a good 4 channel amp for speakers? Since mine was a bose system there is no speakers in the sail panels any ideas on how to put speakers into the sail panel area? Need help.

thanks

Re: Ideas please for new stereo system

Is the $700 fjust or four speakers and a amp?

Do you want a sub?

If you eliminate the dash speaker location, where do you plan on mounting the speakers?

What head unit are you running?

Mounting speakers in the sail panels is not difficult...just need to be handy with a dremel.

Re: Ideas please for new stereo system

No, I right now dont have any speakers in the dash(only have speakers in the kick panels and my deck lid in the back), I want to put speakers in the dash, basically im looking a good set of speakers for the dash and a good set of speakers for the sail panels dont know what fits and what would be a good product to go with, as for the amp I need a good four channel to get loud and clean sound out of the speaker. As for the deck i have that alpine ipod only deck, so far im not happy with it so thinking of changin that but no need for help on that one, as for a sub - not thinking of doing that at this point in time. Just need some good ideas on them speakers and the amp.

thanks

Re: Ideas please for new stereo system

You can add the sail panel speakers by installing the speaker mounting brackets for 6x9's from a donor car but you'll have to cut out the plastic behind your sail panel cloth. A better pair of 4" speakers can be installed into your kick panels and wired direct. That Bose amp in there won't do much compared to a modern decks output alone. I put little Kickers in mine. Used a dremel to clearance the inside of the boxes. My '87 Bose had dash speakers installed (they were aftermarket) but it had the factory wiring to them. Don't know if the Bose system had the 4x6's in the dash factory or not.

Does your Bose headunit work? Looking to get rid of anything?
