Alternative to Jute
I removed all of the jute padding attached to the interior panels in my car during the overhaul. I also laid down a solid layer (or two, in some spots) of FatMat. Now, I have uninsulated, undamped, loud interior panels. I knew that was how that would work out. However, I thought that I would be able to come up with something to line the plastic panels...
I haven't had any really great ideas. Does anyone have an alternative, more efficient and effective sound deadener than jute for the backside of the plastic panels?
Thanks!

Re: Alternative to Jute
Well, winter is almost over (I hope). So, I'm thinking about getting the '89 ready for some road trips. One of the items on my list is re-insulating the cargo panels.
I never did find any solid evidence one way or another about the best sound control material for plastic panels. It seems like everyone has their "special sauce" to sell, but no scientific comparison from one to the next.
I've had the notion of using a foam rubber to cover the back of the panels. I wonder how that would work...
Is the consensus still that jute padding is the best option?
