The right questions are
How fast are you going?
How loud is your exhaust?
I seriously can't imagine you not being able to hear even with your current set up.. the head unit and speakers in my current one are junk, blown out and I can still hear no problem going 60 with the T's off and windows down.. is something else going on we don't know about?

As for the exhaust, I have 2.25" true duals with no cats going into a pair of glasspacks and exiting in the stock location. It's louder than stock, but not obnoxiously so. I have no problems hearing the radio with my current audio setup while accelerating from a stoplight or out of a corner. Even at full throttle getting on the highway, I can usually still hear the radio with the windows down as long as the tops are on. It depends on the song.
