Best sub- no doubt

There was a "which is the best sub" post, but i wanted this to get more attention. There were a few "lists" of who has the best sub wheather it is JL, eclipse, Cerwin (Stroker), rockfor fosgate, Oh wait nevermind that last one, or kicker. Now it may be close between the L7 kicker (which is a great name) and these subs, but i am guessing these ones will kill all. the ones i am talking about is the Eclipse Titanium series. the 10's handle 750 watts rms(!!!!!!!) and the speaker has a 7" peak to peak movemet range (also !!!!!!!!!!!) these subs are bass incarnate, and simply incredable. more info here http://www.eclipse-web.com/product/88000t/88000.html this kinda suck because they have pics of the aluminum series up, so you cant see the massive 2" surround, but it gives all of the info. And no i dont work for em but i want to see more of these incredably high end speakers in thirdgens. although at $799 for the 12 (i think thats the same price for the 15" stroker) i dont expect to see many soon. i would recomend going to a car audio place (quality auto sound, cartoys) and asking for a catalog from eclipse car audio. they may have an order form on the site www.eclipse-web.com but im not positive

Oh yeah! the eclipses ROCK! they are too good to describe. Im not too familiar with the titanium version (although i heard they run $1,200 for a single 12")

Go to an authorised eclipse dealer. its worht it to compair woofers. the 12" aluminium woofers were around $375 in denver. they are tight, and accurate, while they also have deep rumbling bass. its the ultimat woofer. it has both markets!

Trust me, i would rather have one 12" aluminum eclipse than 15- 15" JL W6 woofers. any day fo the week.

You have to check out a store, the one i went to in denver had them side by side with JL W3s. man, i must say, the lj's sounded good, but when they played the eclipses... hooo boy. a million times better, in all respects.

FINALLY, I'm glad to see someone else around here has discovered how good Eclipse subs are!!!!

I can't wait to hear the new Titaniums....I know what the Aluminums sound like, and I'm telling you, besides the new Titaniums, the Aluminums are the best sub period. My friend had 2 12s in his '93 Eldorado, and now 1 10 in his '00 T/A....they simply pound like no other, ever.

I can't wait to get my Aluminum 12 hooked up to my Eclipse amp...400 watts through an Aluminum in a stealthbox-style enclosure is gonna rip!!

If you like aluminum subs, I am very sure that you would like/love Alumapro subs. Lesser known, but they have received much well deserved acclaim.

Oh yeah, someone else knows the great quality on the Alumapro subs. The only reason why I didn't 4 Alumapro 12's was b/c they didn't RMS high enough for my amps but they do pound hard though.

Woah! *nuts pants* thoes 15" titanium woofers look yummy.

anyone know the cubic foot requirement for the 15" titanium woofers? i know the 12" boxes for the aluminum are like .78 cf or something stupidly small like that. they normally require a small sealed box.

man, im just thinking of some way to fit two 15"S in the back of my car somehow.... oh damn you, damn you huge gas tank!

hehe

yea ive decided on one 12, (may take a while to get the money but...) because i have herd from many a car audio experts that they need a clean 1000watts to run at thier best. which i thought was weird cuz thier rms is 750... oh well i got a precision power 600x1 amp that i think will push it to my likeing.

I'll ask my buddy tonight who has the Aluminum 10 Eclipse in his '00 T/A. What I do know is, they don't need to much CF!!

And oh yeah, go Eclipse LOL

Hah! as i recall, the box sixe for the 12" are around .78 CF. I would have a shop install it personally, eclipses are heavy duty woofers, they need a THICK MDF box. I was talking to the installers at the eclipse dealership, and they said that it would blow right through fiberglass. they said they normally use 1" thick MDF (insane) when construsting a box.

Pretty scary stuff. If you have ever heard it, you would know why thye require this.

I bet if you had t-tops, and closed your windows, and played two 12"s at 50% volume, it would blow them sky high! haha.

Good luck! expensive stuff! 500 RMS @ 6 ohms. that means you gotta slam each one with around 750 watts (on a GOOD amp).

Ive seen a few systems with two amps, but at the store, i heard one of the rockford fosgate 1000A2 amps running two 12"s in bridged mono, and it sounded awesome.

haha, then the guy at the store proceeded ot run EVERY woofer in the store off of the same amp. (they had an awesome setup in the store, they could change anything you could think of on the fly, with a comptuer)

Let me tell you, in a perfect world, two 12" aluminum eclipses, with a rockford fosgate 2 channel 1000 watt amp in bridged mono running it.

ok ok, ill stap raving and drooling all over myself.

Ok, Ok, everyone knows that the Eclipse Aluminum Subwoofers are great. but has anyone else heard the titaniums? they are the next step up from Aluminums, and they are simply amazing! those pics alone show you why the need such thick boxes.i would kinda like to see em blow up a fiberglass or particleboard box. only thing is i would hate to see the woffer harmed.

I have heard about the titaniums, but i havn't heard them. nobody has a demo of them.

from what someone tole me, it they ran 100 bucks a inch (i.e. 12" = 1,200 bones).

if the titanium are anythign like the aluminum, then im sold. i will sign my soul away to the devil himself for the money.

hmmm, i thought i did a post about subs.... oh well. and they arent near that much. not where i live anyway. the 12" costs $800 (still expensive, but not nearly as bad), the 15" is $1000. and the dude i talked to at my local car audio place said he could probably sell me a brand new 12 for $640

{edit} Oh and the titanuims, are alot like the aluminums, except more power handling, more SPL, and tighter bass. so i guess there kinda like Aluminums X 2-3

Get somethin flasshy, get your shiz stolen. infinity amps look good, MTX amps are sweet cuz they look generic (cept for the MTX name) and they are incredibly good. Bascially i would go to http://www.crutchfield.com/ and check out amps there. or http://www.onlinecarstereo.com they both have very good pics
