can amp circuitry be tested with continuity tester?

Im getting a killer amp from a buddy of mine, only problem is when you hit the switch on the radio, the amp fuse blows. so i was going to test the individual resistors with a continutiy tester. will this work? will i potentially fry the good circuits left? will a good resistor even let 12 volts through?
thanks
mike

You're in over your head dude. Just testing for continuity won't find you anything. If it's blowing fuses, it's got too much continuity, so to speak. If it's drawing that much current, then chances are it's got a short to ground somewhere, or most likely, one or more of the MOSFET transistors is shot. A continuity check is one tool among dozens necessary to diagnose amplifier failure, and is not by any means easy unless there is a visibly obvious problem like a couple of melted wires, etc.
