wiring

i have an 88 pontiac trans am i bought without a radio in it im trying to hookup a cd player in it now....could sum1 tell me the color coding for the wires??

Axle/Gears: 3.42 Richmond

Generally speaking:

Red = Ignition wire for main power
Yellow = Battery wire for memory
Blue = Accessory wire for amps and/or EQ
Black = Ground
White = Power antenna or cellular phone

Any other colors are probably for speakers, usually two of the same color with one wire having a stripe assigning polarity

On my '88 GTA, red is for the power antenna relay and orange is ignition wire for main power. I'm trying to find out how to power the stock subwoofer amp. Sure hope I have an unused blue wire!

If you are looking at the stock wires, then maybe you should consider getting a wiring harness adapter. The colors I mentioned are for aftermarket components.
