I was tracking down some of the rattles on my car today because of bass and realized the major one is coming from the hatch. If i hold it down the rattling stops... is there anyway to make it seal tighter? Also, how can I put some 6x9's into my sail panels? This car didnt originally come with any speakers in the back, so would there be all the mounting pieces I need be back there or not? I'd look for myself, but they look kinda difficult to remove. =\

to put speakers in the sail panels, remove the hanger hook (one phillips screw) and the panel should pull up and out. mounting hardware should be there, but you might need to rewire them. as for sealing the trunk better, the piece of metal that the trunk latches on to can be unbolted and moved down. but don't move it too much or you won't be able to close the hatch. but before you try moving the hatch catch....try using Dynamat. It works miracles

go to Best Buy installation bay and they carry it. it is a sound deadening material that is applied to the sheetmetal of the car. if you do decide to buy it ask for Dynamat Extreme. one layer of this should quiet all squeaks and make interior sound system louder. a 3 sq. ft. sheet is probobly $30

Dynamat will do it. Makes the music inside the car sound much better also. I put Roadkill all throughout the car, back hatch, behind rear fill, doors and roof. I dont know if that stuff is available any more, but dynamat is for sure. Easy to install, cut , peel, place.

Hmmm... Hey! Anybody install Dynamat in the 6x9 speaker location? Think that might make a difference, or is it only good for huge woofer bangin?

Dynamat in the 6x9 location works awsome. It keeps the music from leaking outside the car, and makes the interior music louder. It also incereases the bass response of the 6x9s. I would definately recommend doing this. make sure you cover the whole panel, it's only effective as it's weakest link
