tbi fuel pump on carb

I made the switch from tbi to carb a while back, but since then the car will die one time after i drive about five minutes. I'll turn the key off for thirty seconds or so then the pump will prime again and the car fires right up. I've read on here that there's a wire to hook up to the fuel pump between the back seats or something along those lines. I know my pump isn't going out because it only does this once in the morning on my way to class. how do i fix it or should i just invest in a holley red and put a regular pick up in the tank.
