I need newbie advice

Ok here's the deal, I am needing to replace my TPI intake with a carb. I am having to many issues with the wiring/computer in my car. I am new in the carb area and could use a little advise. I know their is a bit of opinion in this matter, so no need to explain that to me. I want a carb that can perform very well and I wont have to be under the hood playing with it three days out of the week. I know Holly's are great but from what I see a pain to tune/keep tuned. I haven't heard much about the Edebroch's and Demons. Also what intake manifold has good ratings? I'm looking for hard launch but something that doesn't die off at 4500/5000rpm. Oh and what size carb should I get? When I put the carb in I am going to upgrade to a bigger cam but besides that its pretty much stock (for the moment) improvements will be added regularly.

Thanks in advance for all that reply.
5.7 TPI (stock at the moment)

You'd be happy with a 650 Edelbrock, with matching Edelbrock RPM intake. These carb's stay tuned, and don't require a lot of tinkering.

Edelbrock doesn't make a 650 AFB (To bad, cause they need to for SB over 6000rpm's. They do make a 600 AFB though, and the Carter label makes a 625 AFB

Don't put on a Edelbrock 750 AFB unless you like jetting the crap out of it.

a Edelbrock 600CFM carb should be plenty for your operation...
