Tuning Holley 4160

I just rebuilt a Holley 4160, installed it on the car and started tuning it. I got the primaries tuned in pretty well, and the car runs great as long as i don't get into the secondaries. When i do get into the secondaries, the car bogs very badly, and some smoke comes out the exhuast. I've tried just about everything i can think of to get it to stop, all with no luck. Anyone have any suggestions as to what i could do to get this thing tuned properly?

thanks,
Eric

You'll have to tell us more specific info on your carb.
4160 is a model group that covers a lot of carbs.
A 4160 is a 4150 that useds a secondary metering plate
instead of a metering block and jets.

What is the "list #"? 1850,,,3310 etc. What jetting are you using.
Vacuum sec or double pumper?. Whart accelerator pump shooters? On what manifold is it on?

Is it possible that you installed the wrong gaskets on the secondary side?
