carter afb/ performer rebuild question

Hey guys i just rebuilt my carter 625 w/ electric choke . followed the istructions to the letter every thing worked out fine. EXCEPT the last sentence on the instructions was to actuate the throttle to make sure it was opening properly. well with choke closed secondaries do not open . choke open secondaries open. I hope this is normal thanks . sorry im a rookie to the carb seen.:hail:

Sounds normal.. The choke locks out the secondaries. This is to keep you from gettin on the car too hard while its still cold.

Very normal...I had Rochester that operated the same way. Believe me, it's a good thing. I have a 750 manual that will stall out if I floor it when its cold.

I rebuilt a Carter 625 myself about 4 months ago It's hanging on the wall out in the garage...a damn good carb!
