After a few years of screwing with fuel injection, I came across a killer deal on an awesome carb. Hopefully I'll see single digits at the track this fall n/a.

frees up 10 or so hp, and knocks down nearly 30lbs of weight off the very front of the car...but it makes it a severe pain to drive, especially with a spool.

Glad I looked at this thread... Now I know what power steering bracket i am missing. Here's mine, 305cid with an LT1 camshaft (true double roller timing chain too!), Edelbrock 600cfm 4bbl, stock HEI (stock for 1975 anyhow) and blackjack longtube headers mated to glasspacks. I got plans for a moderately built 350 eventually. Gotta convince the wife to build a big block for her '70 Camaro first.

Can't go wrong with Edelbrock, they make a pretty decent product. Be sure to post the new updated pics!

Daytona_83, you had better keep an eye on that upper rad. hose because the belt for the A/C can come in contact with the bottom of that hose. You may have the updated bracket that holds that hose up but I can't see it in the pic. Just run your fingers over the bottom of that hose and feel for groves. You can see the bracket in this pic.

Here is the one my wife and I are working on. It's an 85 camaro base model that had a spun bearing in the original 305.It now has a 350 with a edlebrock performer rpm intake and a 600cfm edlebrock carb. And it's all under the hood. Now I just need to get a piece of the y-pipe remade and it's ready to roll.

a drop base air cleaner will be your friend. it'll allow you to run a taller element without increasing the over all height of the air cleaner.

It is possible. You just have to spring for the slightly pricey fuel line kit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8131/

I believe that other companies makes this same kit for half the price. Works good.

EDIT: I just realized that you might have been talking about the air cleaner. I used http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-65905/. I did have to use a small spacer adapter for it, but would fit under my stock hood (that is before I added a carb spacer to it)

My newest set of problems... right after the first time it started, hasn'n been cleaned yet. Very nice driver... torquey as hell, makes as much HP as my 350 did, and is much less of a headache to drive on the street.

Hey thanks for the good coments. As long as the breather's have good gromets, they serve well as positive crankcase vents.

Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics

To the guys that took out AC. What is the plastic housing on the passengerside firewall. Half of it has the AC that I can see on my car was cut out. But what is the rest of that housing closer to the fire wall. Also all the wires that are connected to the AC. Can they all come out without a bunch of rewiring , or is there other stuff mixed in with the AC wire harness

It's a AC delete box, you can get them at hawks for about 150 or so. And you get to keep the heater for winter. And yes it can come out without a bunch of rewireing.

Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics

Your car looks great! Not to mention your engine bay looks mint. I have been very happy with my 350 ho. It pulls really good all around. It beat a local lt1 with some mods too...
