icebird_1981, thanks for the comment I'm planning to do some cosmetic things to the car this year since I dropped a load of cash into the engine and transmission last year. I should be able to order up the first thing in 2 or 3 weeks
ive never thrown a belt but i did rip one apart one time, came into a corner at low rpm with a 3500 stall convertor with lockup and when i jumped on it to get the a** end around the surpentine belt tore in half taking out the power steering belt. Thank *** it was about 100 ft from my driveway when it happened

12's would be great but I'd change the air cleaner before you push it. I used those for years and they suck the foam into the carb if you run them hard. My SS396 Chevelle sucked them in all the time.
BTW: Some VERY nice cars here! My IROC is a 350TPI but my other cars are all Carb'd.
It's about time I get some type of pics up.
This is a shot of my 388 before I started to really clean her up, new pics on the way soon, plus of the new SS look.
For now, tell me what you think? I removed all heater/ac stuff, and finally put sheet metal over the holes, looks good, the bay is clean and with plenty of room.
She dyoned at 525 hp at the wheel, soon to add 200 shot n20.

If you try to run it at a sanctioned track, it won't pass tech. There's a maximum total length of rubber line allowed (every piece adds to the total) - I don't have the rule book in front of me so I'm not sure of the exact value, but just the part that's in the picture is more than enough to violate the rule.

Hmm...I just did a search and it appears that the maximum length of rubber line allowed from the tank to the carb is 12 inches. If this information is incorrect someone please correct it. I am a bit worried now because I had to make a dual feed setup for my 750 Holley out of rubber line because the dual feed metal line wouldn't fit and clear various parts of the intake, alternator and such. I think our cars had more than 12 inches of rubber line between the tank and the carb stock from the factory, but I could be wrong? Anyway, I guess I'll need to work on that...bummer

"factory rubber hose" is actually braided line. it's just not the stainless earl's hose. that rubber hose will not pass any type of tech at a sanctioned track

ahh...I see what you're saying. You can kind of see the braided pattern in the factory rubber lines and in some of the higher end fuel line you get at auto parts stores. It's not just smooth, you can see the outline of the webbing inside the rubber. I don't have anywhere near as much rubber line as droppedgmc has on his, but I'm still going to try and cut down on the amount I'm using...

Never said it was track legal. Just said it would hold up to the heat. I have installed braded lines since those pics. I needed the car so I had to have a temporary hookup.
