Here're some pics of the LG4 in the '85 Firebird S/E I just picked up recently. Not real pretty right now, but I hope to clean it up some this summer. It has 160k miles on it!(not too bad for $400 eh?)

its a lil dirty, in a 5th gen g body not a thirdgen, i wish i had pics of our big block 85z with stock towers, but this is my junk.
88iroctpi,becareful with that fuel rail w/ gauge, make sure the screws on the back stay tight, they have a tendency to vibrate loose and then the fluid disappears and the gauge stops working. just personal expierence with slummit junk.

looks good
my 350HO(piece of **** broke *** motor) had black ones stock i ordered those covers for 130 from the gm catalog, i think www.sdpc2000.com has them as well.
and i dont suggest going thru GM for their crate motors, 2 years and 3 motors later i finally built my own and i havnt had a problem yet.
1st crate dropped a main cap bolt on very first start up and shattered a piston and punctured the pan.
2nd motor lasts almost a year not even 1k miles and the rods were installed backwards, but since i installed the motor myself and pulled it out when it blew the warranty was voided:jerkoff:
Originally posted by Slush92RS Uh i have the stock TBI pump still in my tank, and my 388 STROKER runs pretty dang good. I'm feeding my Speed Demon 750 with just that stock pump!!! What is the issue here?? My car runs 11's, that was until my recent oil pump mishap
Well I guess I might as well contribute a pic also. The new tunnel ram engine is still on the engine stand but this is last year's engine and will probably be most of this years engine as well.

What are you gonna do with the old engine? Are you going to part it out?

Some of the stuff will be used on the new engine and I'll probably just sell it as a long block. I'll change things like take off the aluminum valve covers and install some chrome tin ones etc. The distributor will go into the new engine. I haven't decided about the water pump yet. The carb will go onto the tunnel ram to match another one.
I shouldn't have any problems getting at least $5000 Canadian for it. Probably worth closer to $8000. Depends how much I keep on the engine. I could make it a "carb to pan" engine with a few extra parts I have lying around but it wouldn't be on alcohol. It could never be used on the street though without filling the fuel tank with VP C12.
Eagle 4340 crank, Scat I beam rods 1/4" longer than stock. JE lightweight pistons 13:1 compression. Biggest flat tappet cam available from Comp Cams. Merlin oval port heads. Victor Jr intake. Just to name a few of the goodies in the engine.
New engine will have even nicer goodies. Same pistons and crank, aluminum rods, timing gear drive (no chain), BIG roller cam, tunnel ram with 2-850's, Canfield 310 aluminum heads.
This engine puts out around 600 HP. New engine will be around 850 HP (all motor).
Even that picture is old. It still has a MSD distributor on it and I now have a small MSD billet one. The fuel line is also running to the rear and I now have the fuel cell mounted up front.

yah, i've ran Holley's in the past and they (In my opnion) are junk. i'm sure they have their place but not on anything i'll ever build again. had a 750 DP on a 454 and i had nothing but probs with it.
i love my Edelbrock, 4 years, 4k miles and not 1 single problem
now, if i could just figure out how to restore that factory shine...

yeah i have had lots of problems in the past with the holleys and wouldnt recomend them for much of anything except for just making 1/4 mile passes they are awsome for that but for driving puposes the edelbrock is the way to go ive had 4 edelbrocks in the last 8 years on 4 different cars and loved the response and looks of it .....they are awsome carbs...

o and to the previous post... ive had edelbrock and holley... overall ive had less problems with holley, but thats me personally... i know everyone is different, i think their alot easier to tune too...
