Won't hold an idle??

Hey guys, For soem, reason my car will not idle in one spot. I will set it at liek 750-800 and i will turn it off and then when i turn it off and come back again it won;t idle under 1000rpm, so I proceed to lower it and its fine then i turn it off anf next time i drive its at like 600rpm. I was thinking maybe its my floats need to be adjusted but I dunno?? wut do u guys think? thanks

Probably just the weather. Drive the car around for a bit until it is fully warmed up, then set the idle to where you want it. It will usually idle high when you start it, and stay a little high until it fully warms up.

I have the same problem with my idle. It will start out at 1000 then after it warms up it will drop to 750, but once i start driving the idle will be bouncing around from 750 to 1100 through out the day. This has always been happening to my car regardless of the time of the year. I have the stock Q jet on my car. I am still not sure what the problem could be.

Well my car deisaled when i turned it off today at school so I checked the timing and it wass at 13, Well the Vortec heads don;t like much timing so I put it to like 8 or 9 and i have been driving it and the idle is staying rigth where i set it and it seems to start better and doesn't deisal so maybe try cecking your timing.. good luck
