air cleaner for a 1406?

My edelbrock 1406 just came in today, and I have a ZZ4 manifold that should arrive in a few days. I am wondering what cleaner would be a good choice?

I have always used K&N filters before, but I went looking around (on jegs) and found a TON of filters and things for carburetors. I found a K&N "sub stack", I wonder if that is worth anything? or not really?

as for the actual air cleaner and filter, I was thinking about going with an Edelbrock "elite", it's not chrome (don't want chrome), but still looks pretty good (I guess that doesn't really even matter though. And when it's time to change the paper filter, I would probably replace it with a washable filter. I assume K&N is still a good brand?

But anyway, I'm wondering about how much room I will have with the ZZ4 manifold and the 1406 carburetor? Is there any particular cleaner that would be good?

Thanks!

K&N says that the sub stack can actually hurt airflow unless it's used with one of their aircleaners. Your own experience may vary.

hm... I think I'll skip that, I have no way of really testing. Just thought if I would ask if they are really worth it

I bought one of the cheap chrome kits from summit, and the air cleaner had enough drop for the 3" element to clear my stock hood.

I have that exact Edel. 14" air cleaner. Clears the edel carb easily. I have a K&N filter for it.
