ok so i have a 600cfm edelbrock manual choke carb on my car. well recently my car had been bogging like it wasnt getting enough air or gas or spark. so i looked at my wires two where cracked bad so i replaced my wires. still nothing but i got more power. then just yesterday i decided to take my choke of my carb because i didnt use it anyways well i disconnected the choke but left the flapper thing in. well i took it for a drive and went wot and it started bogging bad like i melted a rod or something. so pulled over checked my wires thinking since i just put new ones on maybe one fell off. but nope all fine. i get home and figure it was that flapper got stuck choking my car. so i went in there and took that out now i dont have a choke and the car runs better then ever. i have lots of power now i can smoke my tires with my little 305 from a roll like nothing.
o yeah i dont know how to put my sig in so ill just do this...
Not too uncommon. I have seen lots of people that have a similar problem. Without the choke the butterfly just flaps free. When you hit the gas, the vacuum sucks the butterfly shut, and bogs the crap out of the engine.
very very common thing just as lj said all you have to do is either wire the butterfly out of the way or take it out as you did and the problem is solved ...
