The MC (Mixture Control) solenoid will go full rich (Up) and your idle air plinger will close, taking your idle full rich. You can't "trick" it anymore than you can "trick" a light bulb into lighting while removed from the socket. Any particular reason why you want to cripple it?

take the computer out, and dont replace it with anything, makes you look like an idiot. Considering it controls timing and fuel, theres no fooling computer controlled things when you take out the brain that controls them....

here is the deal guys

the motor is a 4.1 buick and the distributor bushing is going out. I want to put a vaccum advance distributor on.

the wiring harness is going to ---- and I want to use as little of it as possible.

I just got done rebuilding the quadrajet and it is running great

I dont want to have to buy or rebuild another carb so I thought I would bring it to you guys on thirggen because I know the caliber of info I would recieve

it seems that you guys are telling me that there is no way so i will have to adjust to a different route.

I am good with the quadrajets but I do not quite understand the computer working of them quite as well as some of you.

thank you for the heads up on the richness and if any other info available let me know

There is a way but it requires you to make an electronic pulse generator, or spend money on a ready-made one (if any suitable exist at all). You'll also have to make or buy a lockup kit for the torque converter. It'll be easier for you to just get hold of a computer controlled distributor and do some restorative work on the harness.
I have built and modified a pulse generator kit myself as a makeshift carburetor controller awaiting proper repair of my computer stuff (engine needs rebuild and O2 sensor installed). It works ok, I keep it at 30% duty cycle for decent mileage cruising and adjust it up to 40% for performance tasks. It runs at 10-15Hz and connects to the plug on the top pass side of the carb. The computer would set a code for missing the MCS solenoid if I hadn't reprogrammed the EPROM to not check for it. I had to do that or else it would set the light and not lock the converter automatically.
The connector on the front drivers side is for the Throttle Position Sensor.
