Pretty cool!

That's one of the best looking dual snorkel air cleaners I've seen in awhile.

Looks like a really good project, I'm a big fan of the L69 engines (of course, I'm biased )... they weren't any faster than the TPI cars, they were about the same, but those engines just loved to rev!

I've noticed that a lot of L69s found their way to Canada. It sure looks frosty up there! Glad I live in SoCal.

The pic I posted in the other thread was of a 3.70 9-bolt disc that I pulled from a 1985 TA/L69/5-speed in a junkyard last fall. '83 and '84 L69 Z28s and TAs got 3.73 10-bolts, but '85 and '86 L69 TAs got 3.70 9-bolts. 3.70 was only used those two years, so there weren't/aren't a lot of them.

Those dual-snorkle air cleaners are hard to find too. I have one in good shape that I found a couple of days ago. I hated to see such a treasure fall into non-thirdgen hands. At least, now it can find someone who'll appreciate it.

But about your interior... perhaps the previous owner said it's from a TA. Because unless GTAs could be had with 'luxury' seats instead of GTA Ultima seats, and I don't think they could, your interior is pretty typical of a two-tone '85/'86 TA interior, not that there's anything wrong with that. That two-tone color scheme is a very nice choice for a black car. Gotta love black!

Also, if your wheels are 15", they're not from a GTA either, sorry. GTAs had 16" wheels. But there was a 15" 'Snowflake' wheel for the Firebird.

So, at least, the changes made to your car were well thought out because they're all factory Firebird stuff. I hope you get an early spring so you can start enjoying your new car. It looks like a good one!

I hate getting too technical, but if I don't do it, someone else will, right? The snowflake wheel is something completely different than both of those. The GTA wheels are typically called crosslace or sometimes called diamond spoke. And your black ones do look like 16" GTA wheels.

But in your first post you'd said they were 15", so maybe you simply typo'd and meant 16", or you meant the other ones were 15"... or I misread. They'll look great on your car.

mag confusion but either way they rock

i just double checked and the black mags with the silver polish are 15", ive seen the gold mags on the gta's there nice and i've seen the black ones on the gta's, i guess there not original, the previous owner said he got them from a scrap gta, i know the black mags came w/ the grand national if they are the same, either way your right about them looking good on the car i have some pics with t/a with those mags and they look great, 15" maybe small but with a nice large tire they will look great

Ok, that explains it... they came from a Grand National. So yes, they're 15". But they do look a lot like the GTA wheels.

The largest correct(stock) size 15" tire used on these cars was 235/60-15. That's prolly the size that came on that car from the factory.
