Edelbrock 1406 and 305 Tuning Help Needed!

i have a slightly modified LG4, .440 .440 cam, performer intake, stock everything else, and a 1406 on top of it, it doesnt seem like it has the power that it should, but they do list a 600 cfm for a 305, last summer when i put the engine in after being completey rebuilt, it chirped up till 3rd. This spring when i started driving it i resealed the intake because the rear leaked and re timed it back to 10 BTDC like i had it last summer but now i cant get it to really chirp at all and i didnt mess with the carb at all, wondering if you guys had some tuning tips or somethings i should try to get that power back that i had last summer?

Get a vacuum reading and make sure you are pulling something in the teens. Did you by chance move any plug wires and get some swapped by mistake?

no i probably checked them 5 times, the car starts and idles fine, it just seems to be boggy when full throttle, like it has power but its getting too much fuel or something

try checking your choke and make sure it is not set fully open or vice versa... this will cause an extreme lean or rich condition when it has warmed up... i had the same problem... it would bog down when you would floor it but would idle and cruise just fine... adjust ure choke where there is enough play in the springs when its cold... you really just have to play with it... just something to check
