q-jet elec.choke weird

the electric choke on my factory q-jet seems to take too long to lower the idle some times it just fine others too long and really have to work at blipping the throttle to get it down but only after a while. any ideas?

Gummed up mechanism or a weak thermostat coil.

I have the same issue. Check your air cleaner temp sensor, are 12 volts going to the choke?

my setup doesnt have a air temp sensor i sprayed the mechanism with some foaming carb cleaner and the problem pretty much wnt away . I'll be using the same carb on my 350 later this month when i swap it in
