quick question

my friend wants to know if he puts a stock l98 in his 85 camaro lg4 with the cc carb and a aftermarket dual plane intake how much of a torque loss will he lose we been searching and can't find a really good answer is there a dyno sheet on a tpi l98 vs carb l98 i kno it will pull higher rpms but he wants to know if the torque loss will be horrible

It will be noticeable, but not horrible. I don't have torque curves to quote, but a higher stall torque converter will make you forget about the loss.

thanks for your reply if he races a stock l98 tpi will he lose he has a t56 out of a 96 camaro and 3.42 gears,will the torque numbers on a carbed l98 be close or a lil higher than the l81 vette,i also have a carb l98 but i swapped the cam and i leave the line harder than a stock l98,should he swap his cam also

Most likely a carb'd L98 w/T56 will outrun a stock L98. I have no clue about an L81 (mostly because I have no clue what that is).

Cam change can only help (if chosen properly, and the rest of the package backs it up).
