Please forgive my stupidity and help me

I have never worked with anything other than a q-jet and have a holley 750 dp now and have a dumb question. On the bowls for the fuel inlets there are two holes. One is threaded for the fuel line and one is not. I think there is supposed to be a plug or something there but there are no threads. What the hell goes in those non threaded holes opposite the fuel fittings. I know, I am going to go buy a carb book and get some education but I searched the internet but since I don't know what the hell its called I can't find anything.

Thanks and please forget I ever posted this upon answering it. LOL
