Re: How to switch to carb from a tpi

First off you need a new intake and carb which you probbly already knew. You are going to need a new distributor like an hei not computer controled. When i switched over to carb i just used the pink wire that went to the distributor for the power to my new one. Also you need a fuel regulator to get the fuel to the right psi like around 6psi i used a mallory 4309 regulator. the stock throttle cable will work. I still have the regulator if you need it i sell it to you there like $80 brand new ill let you have it for $30 i went to a holley blue pump so i dont need it anymore.

Re: How to switch to carb from a tpi

I would love to keep my tpi but i don't have the money to buy the few sensors that i need to get it running right. So i have a carb and intake that i could put on and not need any sensors. So i figure it'll be better that way.

Re: How to switch to carb from a tpi/tbi

yep. worthless. just plain worthless. i cant find nothing on the electrical section for this crap either. im goin from tbi to carb. i got the motor in, the ecm out. i got my AFPR in, fuel lines hooked up. the only thing i need now is the motor mount bolts tightened, and the alternator and starter hooked up....i got a crap ton of wires in my engine compartment that i have no idea what to do with, and no matter what i search on here, i find nothing usefull. im hearing i can remove all the wires from the passenger side, but it all connects to the drivers side harness. i havnt removed all the sheething from all the wires, but so far i found nothing to disconnect. i have a 2 prong alternator, what goes there? idk, i cant figure that out. what wires go to the starter, idk, cant figure that 1 out either, there was a few wires on the 305 tbi starter, but when i disconnect the harness, those wires are gone....

basically, what im stuck on.. is.....

1. what wires go to the starter
2.what wires go to the alternator
3.how and what wires go to the fuel pump and how should it be wired.
4.VATS?!?! what do i do with that. somethign about grounding a wire somewhere?
