carb gasket leak?

Im trying to figure out if I have a gasket leak or not. I was seafoaming the car and didnt notice any leak, well I turned the car off and poured some in and then it just leaked from the front sides of the gasket under where where I was pouring, I didnt know if that was normal or not because I read something about manifold pressure there helps seal that gasket, I was wondering if it was because of that or if I actually have a leak.

Re: carb gasket leak?

well, from what I read, stock engine vacuum is naturally kinda high at idle. so while it's idling vacuum is sucking fluids your pouring down the carb down into the carb. I read there was a "smoke" or fog-like gun that is/was used to find carb leaks on running engines. Maybe squirt a little light oil around the base and see if its sucked in by a vacuum leak or if it just messes up your manifold : )
