I know this is a camaro forum but.....

Im going to look at a 1982 monte carlo tomorrow with a 350 n 350 turbo transmission. it has 98k miles on it. Im not getting rid of my current car at the moment which is a 1987 2.8 camaro.

My question is about what would i be getting for gas mileage in the monte? The car is 750 dollars and is in good shape. If i end up getting it, i may take my camaro off the road. If its in that good enough of shape i may sell my camaro for a daily driver. sad but it would be the right thing to do i guess. I get about 20 mpg in my current car so im worried about gas mileage atm although i dont do that much driving. any help would be nice thanks

20 mpg in town on 10% corn gas is a nice mpg number. I'd be surprised if the monte carlo gets more than that.

that monte carlo with 350 will probably get anywhere from 12 to 16 mpg in the city depending on a tune. Save up some money and drop ls series motor in your camaro. You will get good mpg and performance.

Re: I know this is a camaro forum but.....

I had one of those once. Worst car I've ever owned. It may have a 350, but the feel of the car is just not the same. The camaro is a mostly-modern sports car whereas the monte is a clunky full-frame beast that thinks it's a sports car.
It may only be a v6, but at least it can take a corner.
