Quadrajet casting??... what do I want

I need to get motor running, so quadrajets are cheap. I have one from a 74-77 GMC pickup. Will this work in my semibuilt 355? I can get a basically new one with a rebuild kit for 75$. Are the metering rods and jets going to be ok for my 355? I know the firs couple casting numbers are 17. I forgot the rest non-CC.

Thanks

The TV cable mounting geometry for your TH700R-4 might not be quite right. Otherwise, it'll probably be close tune-wise. Probably need different secondary rods and possibly hanger, but that's normal tuning stuff.

Re: Quadrajet casting??... what do I want

Is the GMC pickup carb non APT, or APT? If it's non APT, go for it. The APT carbs are much leaner at cruise and part throttle and are very finicky w/ hot engines. The non emissions non APT truck carbs are much more friendly. 17058213 is an example of a non emissions 78-79 Chevy truck carb.
