Quadrajet question?

I don't know much about carb but I have a Quadrajet now and I'm debating multiple setups (ie., heads, intake, carbs) to do in the spring and I might keep the Quadrajet. My question is that because the Quadrajet has an electric choke does that mean it is also has computer feedback?

I'm looking to eliminate any type of computer feedback being that the car is already agrivating me I think due to this.

Re: Quadrajet question?

no, the electric choke is not computerized but you have to hook up a 12v source off the key.

to check if the carb is a comp carb you need to pysically look at it.

if it has any connectors on the actual body of the carb than you need to buy a non-computerized q-jet

and believe me aside from the finish it is the best carb out there

Re: Quadrajet question?

Having an electric choke doesn't have anything to do with the carb being computer-controlled or not.

If you're having problems with the computer control, you're better off fixing it than eliminating it.

Re: Quadrajet question?

That would be a computer controlled q-jet. See the plugs on top of the carb?

Based on your pictures, that's a computer q-jet.

Great system.

Looks like a small-cap, remote coil type distributor, which was only used in '87.
