replacing accelerator pump and tps seals

when I pulled the old retaining washers and seals out, a couple of the retaining tabs or staking that holds the flat washer broke off. I ended up grinding the others off in order to get new washer to seat down low enough. But how do I hold/retain them in place now that the staking is gone? Do I have to take a punch and peen the housing to hold the washers?

There are staking punches out there. I use a center punch.

Re: replacing accelerator pump and tps seals

It doesn't take much for the soft aluminum. A small screwdriver with a gentle tap will work.
