In the "welcome to the carburetor forum" sticky in the top section of this forum is a link to a tech article about going EFI to carb. It also can be found from the thirdgen.org homepage in the tech articles link.
The costs will be the distributor, fuel pressure regulator, misc. hoses, and gaskets.
i think there is a sticky in the carb section, basiclly u need to drop your fuel tank and remove the pump, add a bypass line to the sump so its a straight shot thru the fuel tank unit. add a fuel pump for a carbed engine and a fuel pressure reg. u will want around 7 psi for that carb.
Just get a fuel pressure regulator w/ return line on it from Jegs. Holley makes one for about $50.00. Run feed line into it/ pressure regulated line to carb and return line out the thru. There is no need to drop the tank and change fuel pumps. As far as pressure setting, I wouldn't go higher than 5lbs. More than that and you'll be blowing orings and seals out of the carb!
This is what I did as per instructions I got off of this site and have not had any fuel problems, and I'm running a 475hp 383 motor /w a Holley 750....

I used mallory maa-4309 regulator and had no problems and I was able to pick up dorman fuel line repair kits to make the connection from the stock fuel lines to the regulator...went together pretty easily.
I would say about a 5 or 6 and get a haynes or chiltons that has a good wiring diagram cause you are going to change the feed to the fuel pump and put a manual lockup switch for the torque converter. I would say plan on about $300-350 (depending on the dist cost) if you already have the carb and intake. most of the info I got from the site and feel free to contact me for pictures of the regulator setup if you want....good luck
I switched mine from carb to CFI and back and fourth a
few times until i got the cfi running the way i liked-took
quite a bit of work to the manifold to get it running
good and strong-really like the CFI after the mods...
Besides the carb, manifold, distributor etc. you will need
a carb throttle cable(cfi would probably work but is much
longer)throttle cable brackets, heater hoses, etc. The cfi
fuel pump is a turbine type,so a std. mechanical fuel
pump can draw fuel through it no problem(done that)
so if you use mechanical fuel pump would need the pump
,pushrod, mount plate etc.Mech fuel pumps on my car
always had trouble keeping up with engine at full throttle
so using a regulator with cfi pump is a good idea.
Fuel pump reg.
Holley part #12-803BP
There is an article on here to go from FI to Carb, it lists everything you need. You can go with a vacuum operated lock-up switch instead of a manual one. Look under : http//5finger.8m.com/tpi2carb/tpi2carb.html
I know this is a TPI vs CFI article. But once you have the FI off it's all the same!
The article listed above has a complete parts list w/options. Check it out...
