I have a 86 Firebird. 305. 4bbl. I am almost certain that its spitting gas out,I open'd up my air assembly, and could smell it really strong. I dont know what could cause this,if anyone could give me some help or anything,id appreciate it ,thanks
I've seen carbs spit fuel out when they aren't running right, usually timing or something of that sort. Are you sure its not just leaking from the fuel bowl?
Is the car running fine or is it stumbling real bad? If it s running fine check around the front air horn (top plate) screws. Assuming you have the factory Qjet. Sometimes the top gasket starts to leak or the air horn gets warped.
Im not sure what you mean by stumbling, but lately i have noticed that when i accelerate it does tend to feel like,it doesn't wanna go.Im not sure if that has anything to do with it,It makes somewhat of a low growl sound, then starts to pick up.
