Holley Float Hanger Spring?

I got new float hanger hardware for the nitrophyl floats on both the primary and secondary fuel bowls (application is Holley 3310-4).

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

This is for a center hung float bowl. How is the spring supposed to go on there? Should it be pushing the float up or down?

Have you already taken it apart?

I'm trying to picture in my mind exactly how it fits in there, but I believe it is supposed to help the float go up.

Re: Holley Float Hanger Spring?

Yep, everything is disassembled. The other 750VS that I have looked at did not have a spring at the hollow plastic float.

Here's an online pic (not mine)

Maybe it's not necessary with the plastic or nitrophyl floats? The first carb I dissected had brass floats. The hinge pin is captive once it's inserted into the bowl, so it's not like it's going anywhere, i.e. the spring shouldn't be required to secure the crosspin in place.

Re: Holley Float Hanger Spring?

I found this on Holley's site. It's for a Dominator fuel bowl, but it shows where the spring goes on a center inlet bowl. Very similar, if not exactly the same as a 4150/4160 bowl.

That's what I was looking at when trying to find an answer to your question. Didn't help a lot.

I'll be pulling my bowls to clean them soon, but I wasn't planning on it until next week. Maybe I go ahead and do it later today.
